ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY - PART 120

   ONE HEARTBEAT              AWAY

        PART 120

(copied from Mark Cahill's Book)

For we must all appear before the judgment
seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he
has done, whether it be good or bad."
(2nd Corinthians  5:10)

This is a judgment that all believers go through, once they have physically died. It is not a judgment of whether you will go to heaven or
hell, After all, you are already in heaven. It is a judgment of how you let Jesus run your life
while you were here on earth.

"Now if any man build on this foundation,
gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay,
stubble;

Every man's work will be made manifest : for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work
of what sort it is.

If any man's work abide which he has built
there upon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer
loss, but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire."
(1st Corinthians 3 : 12-15)

Your whole life after you commit to Jesus will  be judged. Every action. And what you did  for God will  be rewarded in heaven.

"For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels and then He shall reward every man according to his works."
(Matthew 16:27)

PRAISING GOD = PART 21

                                              PRAISING GOD

                                                   PART 21

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains,
from whence shall my help come?
My help comes from the Lord
Who made heaven and earth
He will not allow your foot to slip;
He Who keeps you will not slumber
Behold, He Who keeps Israel
will not slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade on your right hand
the sun shall not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord will protect you from all evil.
He will keep your soul.
The Lord will guard your going out
and your coming in
from this time forth and forever.

MY FAVORITE PSALMS - PART 102

                                          MY FAVORITE                PSALMS

                                            PART 102

Hear this, all peoples
Give ear all inhabitants of the world
Both low and high
Rich and poor together
My mouth will speak wisdom
And the meditation of my heart
will be understanding
I will incline mine ear to a proverb
I will express my riddle on the harp

Why should I fear in days of adversity
when the iniquity of my foes surrounds me,
Even those who trust in their wealth,
and boast in the abundance of their riches?
No man can by any means redeem his brother
Or give to God a ransom for him -
For the redemption of his soul is costly
And he should cease  trying forever -
That he should live on eternally
That he should not see the pit.

For he sees that even wise men die:
the stupid and the senseless alike perish
And leave their wealth to others
Their inner thought is that their houses
are forever
and their dwelling places to all generations
They have called their lands after their
own names
But man in his pomp will not endure,
he is like the beasts that perish.

This is the way of those who
are foolish
And of those who approve
their words.
As sheep they are appointed
for Sheol:
Death shall be their shepherd:
And the upright shall rule over them in the morning
And their form shall be for Sheol to
consume.
So that they have no habitation.
But God will redeem my soul from the
power of Sheol.
For He will receive me.

Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich
When the glory of his house is increased
For when he dies he will carry nothing away:
His glory will not descend after him
Though while he lives he congratulates himself -
And though men praise you when you do well
for yourself  -
He shall go to the generation of his fathers
They shall never see the light
Man in his pomp, yet without understanding
is like the beasts that perish.

ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY - PART 119

                                            ONE HEARTBEAT              AWAY

        PART 119

(copied from Mark Cahill's Book)

The Bible labels us as co-laborers  with the Lord Jesus Christ, not as co-watchers with Him. We need to be about the business of furthering His kingdom by showing Him to the people around us - whether we know them or not. Remember, God knows them and wants them to come to Him.

In the Bible, Satan is recorded as saying "I will..."
over and over and over. But Jesus is recorded as saying "Not My will but Thine be done."  We need to live a life where it is not "my will," being done, but "His will."  If we live close enough to Jesus, we will want to glorify God with every fiber of our  being. We will want to do what He wants us to do. Jesus said in the Bible "follow Me."  All I know when we say "Okay," and start following Him, everything in this world  makes so much more sense. Old and intractable problems start  to be worked out.

 We need to obey and
follow Him to have
the highest quality of
life we can experience    and a life that brings glory to God. Obedience is a choice and what a great choice it is!

"And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints."
(Revelation 19:8)

Once saved you are a saint of God, you were created to glorify God with  your righteous acts.
God wants you to forsake all and glorify Him. Go for it!

WAS THERE A DA VINCI CONSPIRACY/ - PART 7

WAS THERE A DA           VINCI CONPIRACY?

           PART 7

 (copied from
  Y-Jesus.com)

Early Critics

Contrary to Brown's assertions, it was not Constantine who branded the Gnostic beliefs heretical, it was the apostles themselves. A mild strain of the philosophy was already growing in
the first century, just decades after  the crucifixion of Jesus. The apostles in their teachings and writings, went to great lengths to condemn these beliefs as being opposed to the truth of Jesus, to Whom they were eyewitnesses.

Check out for example, what the apostle John wrote near the end of the first century:

*
who is the great liar? The one who says
that Jesus is not the Christ. Such people are
anti Christs for they have denied  the Father
and the Son.     (1st John 2:22)
*
Following the apostles' teaching, the early  church  leaders unanimously condemned the Gnostics as a cult. Church father Irenaeus, writing 140 years before Nicaea, confirmed that the Gnostics were condemned by the church as heretics.  He also rejected their "gospels."
However, referring to the four New Testament gospels he said, "It is not possible that the Gospels
can be either more or fewer in number than they are."

Christian theologian, Origin wrote this in the early third century, more than a hundred years before Nicaea:
*I know a certain gospel which is called the "Gospel according to Thomas," and a "Gospel
according to Matthias,"  and many others we have read, - lest we should in any way be considered ignorant,  because of those who imagine they possess some knowledge if they are acquainted with these. Nevertheless, among all these, we have approved solely what the church has recognized, which is that only four gospels should be accepted.

There we have it, in the
words of a highly regarded early church leader. The Gnostics were recognized as a non-Christian cult well before the council of Nicaea. But there is more
evidence calling into question claims made in the Da Vinci Code.

Who's  Sexist?

Brown suggests that one of the motives for Constantine's alleged banning of the Gnostic writings was a desire to suppress women in the church. Ironically it is the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas that demeans women. It quotes (supposedly quoting Peter), with this eye-popping statement; "Let Mary go away from us because women are not worthy of life."  Then Jesus allegedly tells Peter that He will make Mary into a male  so that she might enter the kingdom of heaven. Read: women are inferior. With sentiments like that on display, it is difficult to conceive of the Gnostic writings as being a battle cry for women's liberation.

In stark contrast, the Jesus of the biblical gospels always treated women with dignity and respect. Revolutionary verses, such as this one, found within the New Testament, have been foundational to attempts at raising women's status:

"There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female. For you are all Christians, - You are one in Christ Jesus."
Galatians 3:28  NLT

ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY - PART 118

                                        ONE HEARTBEAT            AWAY

   PART 118

(copied from Mark Cahill's book)

"But beloved, we are persuaded  better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though  we thus speak.

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work  and labor of love, which you have shewed
toward His name, in that you do minister to
the saints and do minister.

And we desire that every one of you do shew
the same diligence to the full assurance of
hope unto the end.  That ye be not slothful,
but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."
(Hebrews 6:9-13)

If Jesus is living IN you, you don't have to wonder
what His will is at any time. You can just ask Him.
Read your Bible and ask Him to teach you His truth. If He is telling you to behave a certain way, ask Him to help you to  behave that way. And talk to Him all the time about everything. That is called  "praying."   Go to a Bible - believing
fellowship or assembly of believers. Worship God when you are alone and when you are with other believers.

Help others without        expecting help in return. You can volunteer at
the hundreds of  organisations that help the poor, the homeless,
the ill, the abused or the abandoned. There is plenty of Jesus work at crisis pregnancy centers, homeless shelters and other institutions. Volunteer to read to the blind, or visit hospitalized babies who have no one coming to see them. Teach reading to adults. When you love Jesus, you will love people because it is Him in you loving them. And you will seek the interests of others before seeking your own interests, because it is Jesus in you seeking their interests.
