ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY
PART 117
(copied from Mark Cahill's Book)
God has created His people to live a life filled with good works. He wants you to live your life to glorify Him. For better or for worse, your works will attest to what and whom you love. One of my friends says; " You may not do what you say, but you will do what you believe." Our actions are
determined by our beliefs. If I believe stealing is wrong, I won't do it. If I believe murder is wrong, I won't do it. If I believe helping the poor is right, I will do it. And now that you are a child of God, your works will show the love that you have for Him.
Charles Spurgeon said: "I have now concentrated all my prayers into one, and that one prayer is this: that I may die to self and live wholly to Him."
You don't have to do the doing, You only need to be willing for Him to do the doing through you.
Are you ready to give all that you've got for Him?
It is the only way to live this life.
During the scandal about of the moral character of President Clinton, Alan Keyes commented on the situation on a T.V. show, and he made a very interesting observation. He said that the President claimed that these things were part of his personal life and did not affect his job as President.
Mr Keyes said that the President of the United States is the leader of the free world. Once you accept a job of that magnitude, you are president twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. In fact you are never not the President of the United States.
Similarly, now that you
have chosen to be a believer in Jesus Christ, you are a believer in Jesus Christ twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. You are always a believer and people will always be watching you - either hoping for you to fail or hoping for you to succeed.

HYMNS - PART 3
HYMNS -
PART 3
What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer
O what peace we often forfeit
O what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations?
is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a friend so faithful?
Who will all our troubles share
Jesus knows our every weakness
take it to the Lord in prayer
Are we weak and
heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load
of care ?
Precious Savior still our refuge
Take it to the Lord in
prayer.
Do Thy friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer
In His arms He'll take and shield you
You will find a solace there.

PRAISING GOD - PART 20
PRAISING GOD
PART 20
Great is the Lord and greatly too be praised
In the city of our God His holy mountain
Beautiful in elevation the joy of the whole earth
Is Mount Zion, in the far North
the city of the great King.
God in her palaces
Has made Himself known as a stronghold
For lo, the kings assembled themselves
They passed by together
They saw it, then they were amazed
They were terrified, they fled in alarm
Panic seized them there
Anguish as of a woman in childbirth
With the eastwind
Thou dost break the ships of Tarshish
As we have heard, so have we seen
In the city of the Lord of hosts
In the city of our God
God will establish her forever.
We have thought on
Thy lovingkindness
O God
In the midst of Thy temple.
As is Thy name O God
So is Thy praise to the
ends of the earth
Thy right hand is full of righteousness
Let mount Zion be glad
Let the daughters of Judah rejoice
Because of Thy judgments
Walk about Zion and go around her
Count her towers
Consider her ramparts
Go through her palaces
That you might tell it to the next
generation
For such is God
Our God forever and ever
He will guide us until death.

MY FAVORITE PSALMS - PART 101
MY FAVORITE PSALMS
PART 101
Fret not yourself because of
evildoers
Be not envious towards
wrongdoers
For they will wither quickly
like the grass
And fade like the green herb
Trust in the Lord and do good
Dwell in the land and cultivate
faithfulness
Delight yourself in the Lord
And He will give you the desires
of your heart
Commit your way to the Lord
Trust also in Him and He will
do it.
And He will bring forth your
righteousness as the light
And your judgment as the
noonday.
Rest in the Lord and wait
patiently for Him.
Fret not yourselves because
of him who prospers in his way
because of the man who carries
out wicked schemes.
Cease from anger and
forsake wrath
Fret not yourself, it leads
only to evildoing
For evildoers will be cut off
But those who wait for the
Lord, they will inherit the
land.
Yet a little while and the wicked man will be no more
And you will look carefully
for his place and he will not
be there.
But the humble will inherit
the land
And will delight themselves
in abundant prosperity.

ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY - PART 116
ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY
PART 116
(copied from Mark Cahill's Book)
Paul, speaking of his experience of meeting the glorified Jesus on the road to Damascus, said He couldn't stop telling people about Jesus.
"But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. " (Acts 26:20)
As with Paul, now that you are saved, God wants to work through you, to make your life a true reflection of repentance and faith. Once you repent and receive Jesus, the Spirit of God is in you, and your gratitude for what He has done and will do for you will fill you with a desire to do great deeds for Him.
What you truly believe is what drives you to action. Now it is time for action:
"They profess that they know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." (Titus 1:16)
"For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead.
And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him Who died for them and rose again.
Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we Him no more.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away: behold all things are become new."
(2nd Corinthians 5:14-17)
"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them"
(Ephesians 2:10)

WAS THERE A DA VINCI CONSPIRACY -PART 6
WAS THERE A DA VINCI CONSPIRACY?
PART 6
(copied from
Y-Jesus.om)
This brings us to our second issue: Why were
these mysterious gnostic gospels destroyed, and
excluded from the New Testament?
In the book Teebing asserts that the Gnostic writings were eliminated from 50 authorized
Bibles commissioned at the council: He excitedly
tells Neveu:
"Because Constantine upgraded Jesus' status
almost four centuries after Jesus' death, thousands
of documents already existed chronicling His
life as a mortal man. To rewrite the history books,
Constantine knew that he would need a bold stroke. From this sprang the most profound
moment in Christian history. .... Constantine
commissioned and financed a new Bible which
omitted those gospels which spoke of Christ's
human traits and embellished those that made
Him godlike. The earlier gospels were outlawed,
gathered up and burned."
Are these Gnostic writings the real history of
Jesus Christ? Let us take a deeper look to see
if we can separate truth from fiction.
Secret "Knowers"
The Gnostic gospels are attributed to a group
known as ( a big surprise here) the Gnostics.
Their name come from the Greek word gnosis, meaning knowledge. These people thought they
had secret, special knowledge hidden from ordinary people.
Of the 52 writings, only five are actually listed
as gospels. As we shall see, these so-called
gospels are markedly different from the New
Testament gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and
John.
As Christianity spread the Gnostics mixed some
doctrines and elements of Christianity into their
beliefs, morphing Gnosticism into a counterfeit
Christianity. Perhaps they did it to keep recruitment numbers up and make Jesus a poster child for their cause. However, for their system
of thought to fit with Christianity, Jesus needed
to be stripped of both His humanity and His
absolute deity.
In the Oxford History of
Christianity, John McManners wrote of
the Gnostic's mixture of
Christian and mythical
beliefs.
"Gnosticism was (and
still is) a theosophy with
many ingredients. Occultism and oriental mysticism became fused with astrology, magic.....
they collected sayings of Jesus, shaped to fit
their own interpretation (as in the gospel of Thomas) and offered their adherents an alternative of rival form of Christianity.

ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY - PART 115
ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY
PART 115
(copied from Mark Cahill's Book)
Chapter 11
Reflect the Light of the Son
Though no one can go back and make a brand new start,
anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.
Anonymous
Now that you have become justified, it is time to become sanctified. What that means is that God is in the molding business, of shaping you into the man or woman of God that He wants you to be. The analogy in the Bible is of a Potter and clay.
"But now, O Lord, Thou art our Father, we are the clay and Thou art our Potter; and we all are the work of Thine hand."
(Isaiah 64:8)
Just as the potter sits at the potter's wheel, and molds the clay into what he wants it to be, God wants to mold our lives and do great things in us, and through us while we are still here on earth.
If the potter doesn't like what the clay is becoming, he doesn't throw the clay away; he just pushes it down and starts forming it into what he does want it to be. It's the same way with God, He doesn't throw His children away when we do something wrong. Instead, He puts a desire in our hearts to humble ourselves - to push ourselves down and repent to Him. Then He starts to reshape us.
This is where the fun is in following God. As He continues that shaping process, we become more and more fulfilled in our individuality. And at the same time we become more like Him. Then we are on a journey to become so obedient to Him that He can use us
in ways that we cannot even imagine at this moment in our lives!
Charles Spurgeon said:
"It is remarkable that the Holy Spirit has given us very few deathbed scenes in the Book of God. We have very few in the Old Testament and fewer still in the New. And I take it that the reason may be, because the Holy Ghost would have us take more account on how we live than on how we die, for life is the main business. He who learns to die daily, while he lives will find no difficulty to breath out his soul for the last time into the hands of his Creator. "

All this is the literal result of the transformation
that takes place within a believer in Jesus. The
power of God to change us is startling.
Once you know who you are in the eyes of God
as one of His followers, the next question is:
What does He want to do through me?
You are going to feel humbled by the glorious
plans that God has for you in this life.

PRAISING GOD - PART 19
PRAISING GOD
PART 19
Who is the man who desires life
and loves length of days that he
may see good?
Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit
Depart from evil and do good
Seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the Lord are toward
the righteous
And His ears are open to their
cry
The face of the Lord is against
evildoers
To cut off the memory of them
from the earth
The righteous cry and the Lord
hears
And delivers them out of all
their troubles
The Lord is near to the broken
hearted
And saves those who are crushed
in spirit.
Many are the afflictions
of the righteous
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
He keeps all his bones
not one of them is broken
Evil shall slay the wicked
And those who hate the
righteous
shall be condemned
The Lord redeems the soul
of His servants
And none of those who take
refuge in Him will be condemned.

I will bless the Lord at all times
His praise shall continually be

My soul shall make its boast in

rejoice
O magnify the Lord with me
And let us exalt His Name
together
I sought the Lord and He
answered me and delivered
me from all my fears
They looked to Him and were
radiant
Their faces shall never be
ashamed
This poor man cried and the
Lord heard him
and saved him out of all his
troubles
The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear Him
And rescues them
O taste and see that
the Lord is good
How blessed is the man
who takes refuge in Him!
O fear the Lord you His Saints
For those who fear Him
there is no want
The young lions do lack and
suffer hunger
But those who fear the Lord, shall
not lack of any good thing
Come you children, listen to me
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

MY FAVORITE PSALMS - PART 100
MY FAVORITE PSALMS
PART 100
Sing for joy in the Lord, O you
righteous ones
Praise is becoming to the upright
Give thanks to the Lord with the Lyre
Sing praises to Him with a harp and
ten strings
Sing to Him a new song
Play skillfully with a shout of joy
For the Word of the Lord is upright
And all His work is done in faithfulness
He loves righteousness and justice
The earth is full of the lovingkindness
of the Lord.
By the Word of the Lord the heavens
were made
And by the breath of His mouth
all their host
He gathers the waters of the sea
together as a heap
He lays up the deeps in storehouses
Let all the earth fear the Lord
Let all the inhabitants of the world
stand in awe of Him.
For He spoke and it was done
He commanded and it stood fast
The Lord nullifies the council of the
nations
He frustrates the plans of the peoples
The council of the Lord stands forever
The plans of His heart from generation
to generation.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord
The people whom He has chosen for His
own inheritance.
The Lord looks from heaven
He sees all the sons of men
From His dwelling place
He looks out
On all the inhabitants of
the earth
He Who fashions the heart
of them all
He Who understands all
their works
The king is not saved by a mighty army
A warrior is not delivered by great strength
A horse is a false hope for victory
Nor does it deliver anyone by its great
strength.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those
who fear Him.
On those who hope for His lovingkindness
To deliver their soul from death
and to keep them alive in famine
Our soul waits for the Lord
He is our help and our shield
For our heart rejoices in Him
Because we trust in His Holy Name
Let Thy lovingkindness O Lord
be upon us
According as we have hoped in Thee.

nations
He frustrates the plans of the peoples
The council of the Lord stands forever
The plans of His heart from generation
to generation.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord
The people whom He has chosen for His
own inheritance.
The Lord looks from heaven
He sees all the sons of men
From His dwelling place
He looks out
On all the inhabitants of
the earth
He Who fashions the heart
of them all
He Who understands all
their works
The king is not saved by a mighty army
A warrior is not delivered by great strength
A horse is a false hope for victory
Nor does it deliver anyone by its great
strength.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those
who fear Him.
On those who hope for His lovingkindness
To deliver their soul from death
and to keep them alive in famine
Our soul waits for the Lord
He is our help and our shield
For our heart rejoices in Him
Because we trust in His Holy Name
Let Thy lovingkindness O Lord
be upon us
According as we have hoped in Thee.

ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY - PART 113
ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY
PART 113
(copied from Mark Cahill's Book)
God tells us that:
"even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, has now been made manifest to His saints.
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
(Colossians 1:26-27)
You now have the Son of God living inside of you.
You are going to be humbled by the changes that will be occurring in your life! Look at who you have become as a follower of Jesus Christ:
"I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me."
(Galations 2:20)
Jesus now lives in you and through you. As Spurgeon said:
"The more you reaffirm who you are in Christ, the more your behavior will begin to reflect your true identity!"
Now take a look at who you have become! (from
Victory Over the Darkness by Dr. Neil Anderson)

WAS THERE A DA VINCI CONSPIRACY - PART 5
WAS THERE A DA VINCI CONSPIRACY ?
PART 5
(copied from
Y-Jesus.com)
Firing on the canon
The Da Vinci Code also states that Constantine suppressed all documents about Jesus, other than
those found in our current New Testament canon
(recognized by the Church as authentic eyewitness reports of the apostles), it further asserts that the New Testament accounts were altered by Constantine and the bishops to reinvent Jesus.
Another key element of the Da Vinci Code Conspiracy was that the four New Testament gospels were cherry-picked from a total of "more then 80 gospels," most of which were supposedly suppressed by Constantine.
There are two central issues here, and we need to
address both. The first is whether Constantine altered or biased the selection of the New Testament Books. The second is whether he barred documents that should have been included in the Bible.
Regarding the first issue, letters and documents written by second century church leaders and heretics alike confirm the wide usage of the New Testament Books. Nearly 200 years before Constantine convened the Council of Nicaea, the heretic Marcion listed 11 of the 27 New Testament Books as being the authentic writings of the apostles.
And about the same time, another heretic, Valentinus, alludes to a wide variety of New Testament themes and passages. Since these two heretics were opponents of the early church leadership, they were not writing just what the bishops wanted. Yet, like the early church, they still referred to the same New Testament books we read today.
So, if the New Testament
was already widely in use
200 years before
Constantine and the
Council of Nicaea, how
could the emperor have
invented or altered it ? By that time the church was widespread and encompassed hundreds of thousands, if not millions of believers , all of whom were familiar with the New Testament accounts.
In his book, The Da Vinci Code Deception, an analysis of the Da Vinci Code, Dr. Erwin Lutzer remarks:
* Constantine did not decide which Books would be in the canon, indeed the topic of the canon
did not even come up at the council of Nicaea. By that time the early church was reading a canon of books it had determined was the Word of God, two hundred years earlier."
Although the official canon was still years from being finalized, the New Testament of today was
deemed authentic more than two centuries before Nicaea.

ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY - PART 112
ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY
PART 112
(copied from Mark Cahill's Book)
Chapter 10
Who am I ?
"Therefore. if any man be in Christ, He is a new creature,
old things have passed away, behold all things have become
new.
- Apostle Paul 2 Corinthians 5:17
An amazing thing happens when you become a
Christian. The things you once loved, you now
hate. And the things you once hated, you now
love. Think about it as the journey to serve the King continues.
If you have not made that decision, to follow
Jesus, read on to see what you will experience when you finally surrender your life to Him.
If you have made your decision for Jesus Christ,
you are going to be amazed at what you read now. You are now, officially, a different person in God's eyes - a new creature in the eyes of God! You have
been justified. The ransom has been paid in full.
No debt remains to be paid for your sin. It is
forgiven! You are a different person!
One guy put it this way: "If you played football, you are as good as your talent and work level. But if one day Michael Vick came to live inside of you,
look at the changes: you could run a 4.2 40 yard -dash, you'd have lightning quick moves, and an arm that could throw a football down the field with a flick of the wrist. You are now a totally different player. Why? Something changed on the inside."
This leaves out one thing. Having Michael Vick inside you, wouldn't give you Michael Vick's body. So the desire to be great might be there, but would you have the ability to be great?
But when the Son of God is living inside of you, and has changed your life because of what He did for you, life is truly worth living! Although having Michael Vick living inside of you, might change your life, you better believe that having the Son of God WILL change your life in unimaginable ways now that you believe in Him!
