ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY - PART 123

                                         ONE HEARTBEAT                  AWAY

   PART 123

(copied from Mark Cahill's Book)

While driving to my parents house one day, I stopped at a red light, and a woman walked in front of my car. There was a bus coming on the cross street, and another woman was yelling at her to hurry up so she wouldn't miss the bus. She began to run across the street in front of me and darted across the other street to catch the bus. All of a sudden, an SUV hit the running woman. She flew up in the air, hit the windshield and rolled off to the side.

As soon as I could, I pulled over and went to where she was lying on the ground. There were already people there taking care of her. They called 911 and I prayed.

From what I could hear her friend saying to her, the woman was apparently Eastern European. Then something struck me: when that lady got hit
everybody ran over to her. Males, females, whites, blacks, Hispanics - everybody ran to her.

There were no racial barriers. No economic barriers. They saw someone in need, and they went to help. Nothing stopped them.

I don't know what happened to that woman, but I know that I was there to pray for her. Now just think about all the people who are in spiritual need and falling into hell as you read this. There are so many people who are not right with God, and not ready for eternity. They are eternally condemned.

How can I run to those people who are temporarily hurt physically, but not run to those who are eternally hurt spiritually ?  If I walk past a swimming pool while someone is drowning, I can't just keep walking, I must do something.

HYMNS -PART 5

                                                  HYMNS

                                                  PART 5

What a Friend we have in Jesus

What a Friend we have in Jesus
all our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer
O what peace we often forfeit
O what needless pain we bear
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations,
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Are we weak and heavy laden
cumbered with a load of care
Precious Savior still our refuge
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
In His arms He'll take an shield you
You will find a solace there

PRAISING GOD - PART 22

                                            PRAISING GOD

                                                PART 22

Shout joyfully to the Lord
all the earth
Serve the Lord with gladness
Come before Him with joyful singing
Know that the Lord Himself is God
It is He Who has made us and
not we ourselves
We are His people and the sheep
of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise
Give thanks to Him, bless His Name
For the Lord is good
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.

I will sing of lovingkindness and justice
To Thee, O Lord, I will sing praises
For Thou, O Lord
doth abide forever.
And Thy name to all generations.

So the nations will fear
the name of the Lord
And all the kings of the earth Thy glory.
For the Lord has built up Zion,
He has appeared in His glory
He has regarded the prayer of the\
destitute
nor has he despised their prayer.

MY FAVORITE PSALMS - PART 103

                                             MY FAVORITE                   PSALMS

                                                 PART 103

The Mighty One, God the Lord,
has spoken
And summoned  the world from the
rising of the sun to its setting
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
God has shone forth
May our God come and not keep silence
Fire devours before Him,
And it is very tempestuous around Him,
He summons the heaven above,
And the earth to judge His people,
"Gather My godly ones to Me,
Those who have made a covenant
with Me by sacrifice."
And the heavens declare his
righteousness
For God Himself is judge.

"Hear, O My people, and I will speak,
O Israel, I will testify against you,
I am God, your God,
I do not reprove you for your sacrifices,
and your burnt offerings are continually
before Me,
I shall take no young bull out of your
house
Nor male goats out of your folds,
For every beast of the forest is Mine
The cattle on a thousand hills,
I know every bird of the mountains,
And everything that moves in the field
is Mine,
If I were hungry, I would not tell you
For the world is mine and all it contains,
Shall I eat the flesh of bulls,
or drink the blood of male goats?
Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving
And pay your vows to the Most High.
And call upon Me in the day of trouble,
I shall rescue you and you shall honor Me."

But to the wicked, God says,
"What right have you to tell of My statutes, and to take
My covenant in your mouth?
For you hate discipline,
and you cast My words behind you.
When you see a thief, you are pleased with him.
And you associate with adulterers
You let you mouth loose in evil,
And your tongue frames deceipt
You sit and speak against your brother
You slander your own mother's son,
These things you have done and I kept
silence
You thought that I was just like you
I will reprove you and state the case in order
before your eyes.

Now consider this, you who forget God,
lest I tear you in pieces and there be none
to deliver,
He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving
honors Me,
And to him who orders his way aright
I shall show the salvation of God.

ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY - PART 122

                                          ONE HEARTBEAT             AWAY

      PART 122

(copied from Mark Cahill's Book)

Now that you are a follower of Jesus Christ, it
is time to fish for men.

"And He saith unto them, 'Follow Me and I
will make you fishers of men,' "
(Matthew 4:19)

Someone once told me that if you are not fishing, you are not following. Let me repeat that: If you are not fishing for the souls of men you are not following Jesus the way He commands you to follow Him. It is time for us to reach the lost. It is time to make sure that no one dies and goes to hell for all eternity. It is time to take your light to a very dark world and let it shine very brightly.

Jesus said that we are the salt of the earth. Salt makes people thirsty. People should see our lives and hear our voices and be thirsty for Jesus and Jesus alone.

"For the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost."
(Luke 19:10)

Jesus said  that we are to seek and save that which was lost. If it is important to Jesus to reach the lost, it ought to be important to us to do the same. There can't be a simpler command than that. We are to preach the gospel to every person God leads us to. We are here to make disciples.    We are to plant seeds in hearts that God has prepared and then He can make the seed grow. We are here to plunder hell and populate heaven.

Charles Spurgeon said:

"The saving of souls, if a man has once gained love to perishing sinners and His blessed Master, will be an all absorbing passion to him. It will so carry him away, that he will almost forget himself in the saving of others. He will be like the brave fireman, who cares not for the scorch of the heat, so that he may rescue the poor creature on whom true humanity has set his heart."

WAS THERE A DA VINCI CONSPIRACY? - PART 8

WAS THERE A DA          VINCI CONSPIRACY?

            PART 8

         (copied from
          Y-Jesus.com)

Mystery Authors

When it comes to the Gnostic gospels, just about every book carries the name of a New Testament character. The gospel of Phillip, the gospel of Peter, The gospel of Mary, the gospel of Judas, and so on. (Sounds a little like a roll call at a
parochial school). These are the books that conspiracy theories like the Da Vinci Code are based upon. But were they even written by their
purported authors?

The Gnostic gospels are dated  about 110 to 300 years after Christ and no credible scholar believes any of them could have been written by their namesakes. In James M. Robinson's comprehensive The Nag Hammadi Library, we learn that the Gnostic gospels were written by "  "largely anonymous authors"   Dr.  Darrell L. Bock, professor of New Testament studies  at Dallas Theological Seminary  wrote:

"The bulk of this material is a few generations removed from the foundations of the Christian faith, a vital point to remember when assessing
the contents."

New Testament scholar,
Norman Geisler, commented on two Gnostic  writings, the Gospel of Peter and the Acts of John. (These Gnostic writings are not to be confused with the New Testament Books written by Peter and John.)

"  The Gnostic writings were not written by the apostles, but by men in the second century (and later) pretending to use apostolic authority to advance their own teachings. Today we call this fraud and forgery."

The Gnostic gospels are not historical accounts of Jesus' life but instead are largely esoteric sayings, shrouded in mystery, leaving out historical details such as, names, places and events. This is in striking contrast to The New Testament Gospels which contain innumerable historical facts about Jesus' life, ministry and words.

ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY - PART 121

                                          ONE HEARTBEAT             AWAY

      PART 121

(copied from Mark Cahill's Book)

No two people get the same rewards in heaven, because no two people were created to be the same; therefore no two lives are the same. Jesus will reward you for what you did with your life after you committed your life to Him. And His judgment will not entail comparison with someone He created to be different, but  with the way He created you to be. The things you let Him do through you will be rewarded and the things you do yourself - things that have only temporary value, and no eternal value, - will be burned up like a brush fire.

This desire to tell people about Jesus, or to behave like Jesus towards them, is nothing new. We read that the same thing happened to people in the Bible, when they had an encounter with Jesus.
They wanted to tell other people what  Jesus had done for them. Andrew, Peter, the woman at the well, Paul. John, - all had an encounter with the
Son of God, and they just had to tell someone.

It brings glory to Jesus to tell others about Him. God can use you in a way that may cause them to repent and place their faith in Jesus. That is one major reason why God leaves us here on earth after we get saved; to reach the lost before they die and go to hell.

When a woman has a baby she tells everybody
Why!  Because she has good news!  She has been carrying this baby for nine months, the baby is born and mom is  excited.  She has to tell somebody.

The word "gospel" means "good news"  The truth is that it is great news.  God isn't mad at me.
I know how to be forgiven of my transgressions against Almighty God. Jesus died for my sins.
Then rose from the dead!  If people want to share the good news of a  new baby with others, why wouldn't they want to share this great news with everyone they meet?
