Three ladies were trapped on an island. One was blonde, another was brunette and the third was a redhead.

The nearest shore was fifty miles away:

 The Redhead was the first to decide to try to make it to the other shore - she managed twenty miles then drowned and died.

Then the brunette tried and managed to swim twenty five miles then drowned and died.

The blonde swam thirty miles, got tired and swam back.
