ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY - PART 94
ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY
PART 94
(copied from Mark Cahill's Book)
Jesus says that non-belief is a decision to
reject Him. Such a decision makes no sense
after all the evidence that has been presented
to you in this book. In fact, it is really very
difficult to go to hell once you look at all the evidence and recognize your sin and realize
that you have been invited to heaven.
On the other hand you don't have an invitation
to go to hell, so why don't you go ahead and
cash in the invitation to go to heaven?
But there is something else you need to know
before you make that decision. God doesn't
promise that everything will become smooth
in your life and that there will not be any
problems once you surrender your life to Jesus.
Yes, the Bible promises over and over that God will forgive your sins, and "provide all your
needs according to His riches in glory."
(Philippians 4:19).
Still, following Jesus
is not about life
enhancement. But
then why does He
make such promises
as the following?
"And Jesus answered and said, 'verily I say
unto you, there is no man who has left house,
or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother,
or wife, or children, or lands, for My sake,
and the gospel's.
But he shall receive an hundred fold now in
this time, houses and brethren, and sisters, and
mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions and in the world to come, eternal
life. (Mark 10:29-30)
This seems to promise material abundance, but
what is it really saying? It is giving us an
important cluster of information that should
help us cope while we are here.
