BAD SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

Have you also, at some time, had a bad
  shopping experience at your pharmacy?

I recently filled a script for 30 Rythmol
tablets. I  didn't open the box right away
as I still had a few tablets left.  When
I did open it I was shocked to find
that they had only supplied me with 20 tablets.  I had no recourse - I didn't know until it was too late. This is a big loss to me as  10 Rythmol tablets cost R90 and you can only get them on script.   I now  check the contents as soon as I receive my medication.

On another occasion, further back in time, I purchased a jar of Nivea Q10 Plus  night face cream.  At that stage it was priced at R150.  I took it off the shelf, put it in the trolley, paid for it and on arrival at home locked it in a drawer in my wardrobe as I still had some left.  This jar was encased in a perfect box, no scratches, no dents, no signs of damage, just perfect.

When I opened it a few weeks later,  the box was still in the same pristine condition, but when I turned the lid of the jar to open it   I found, to my horror that it  was crushed - not merely cracked but crushed. Needless to say, the contents were unusable as the cream was spiked with crushed glass.  That glass jar was deliberately placed in that perfect box.  There are three different ways to explain why  the jar was in that condition. It could have happened at the factory before or while being packaged, it could have been a curious customer who opened the box dropped the jar onto the floor put it back into the box  and quickly replaced it on the shelf, or otherwise some staff member of the pharmacy was responsible.

Again I had no recourse - again it was too late.  I did send them a letter of complaint but to this day, have not received an answer.  I no longer buy face cream as I do not have time to examine the contents of boxes before I make a purchase.  I personally feel that it is up to the supplier of the goods to ensure that the goods they sell are up to scratch.

On yet another occasion I purchased among other things, a tweezer without a price tag. After paying the bill I realized that it was a lot higher than I had expected and so queried it and found that the tweezer price was over R200 as it was gold tipped. As I do not need gold tipped tweezers I asked for my money back. I was forced to make a scene in order to accomplish this.  They had just taken my cash and now tried to fob a credit note on me.

I am interested to know whether other customers open boxes and turn lids on jars before purchasing them and also whether everyone checks the pills in their packaging immediately they arrive home.  Is it only me that is so foolish?

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that atheists are       recorded in the Bible ?

"The fool has said in his heart 'there is no      God.' "   Psalm:14:1

Atheists mock and  laugh at Christians and call us fools for believing in God, but the Bible says they are fools.

They say that we believe in fairy tales like talking donkeys, Jesus walking on water, and people being raised from the dead.

It is easy for God to make a donkey talk - He is the One Who made the donkey - so why can't He make it talk?

He is the One who made the sea - so why can't He walk on it?

He created people - so why can't He raise them from the dead?

Nothing is impossible for God to do.  Luke:1:37

LIFE AND DEATH ARE IN THE POWER OF THE TONGUE

Every morning when we wake up, after we have thanked God for another day, we should also remember to ask Him to guide our speech for that day.

We should then watch for His guidance,
and be careful what we say.  It is so easy to point out other people's mistakes be it husband/wife/child or stranger. Some of us even think it is Okay to be confrontational, and say nasty things either directly or behind the victim's
back.

When someone does or says something we do not like, or that is hurtful,  we should think before we speak. Once a word is spoken, we cannot take it back, no matter how sorry we are, the harm is already done. We cannot erase it.

Proverbs:18:21 says "Life and death are in the power of the tongue."

James:3:8 says  "Even so the  tongue is a little member and boasteth great things; behold how great a matter a little fire kindleth."

GOD THE CREATOR

Did you know that, as God is the creator of        the universe,  He is the one Who gets to              make the rules.

We as  his creation get to choose whether to obey His rules, but if we reject them, we have to bear the consequences.

"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed shall live. "  Deut:30:19

"Does the pot argue with its maker, does the clay dispute with the one who forms it, saying Stop, you are doing it wrong or the pot exclaim, how clumsy can you be? Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel  Israel's creator says  'what right have you to question what I do?
who are you to command Me concerning the work of My hands? I have made the earth and created man upon it. With My hands I have stretched forth the heavens and commanded the vast myriads of stars?"
Isaiah  45 : 7, 9, 11

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT FIREWORKS?

This is an open letter to the  person or persons who set off  fireworks  in the Moddefontein, Rustenburg
area, on the evenings of 31st December 2015 and 1st January,2016.

It is now 1.30 am on the  11th
January, 2016 - there is a thunderstorm going on outside -
inside  our dogs are terrified. With the exception of my  Yorkie, the other dogs were never afraid of  lightning and thunder.

On the two nights in question, some bright sparks (excuse the pun)
in our area, decided to have some fun with firecrackers. I don't know who you are, or  anything  else about you - what I do know is that you have caused untold harm  to our household. I would like to take this opportunity to ask you and  others like you, to please think before you shoot off fireworks. You have a few minutes of  "fun" and then sleep peacefully in your beds, oblivious to the trauma your innocent neighbors have to endure, for weeks and months afterwards.

We are new to this rather remote area, chosen by us for its isolation and tranquility, so it came as quite a shock when the fireworks started.  We actually thought it was gunshots at first. The dogs went beserk. Have you ever tried to comfort a terrified dog?  Have you ever had even just one of them shaking and shivering and clawing at you in an effort to get as close to you as possible, and you are completely powerless and out of your depth to help them,  and it goes on for hours after the fireworks have stopped. Do you know how traumatic that is ?

Now every time we have have a thunderstorm we have a repetition of those two nights, and we  don't  know whether it will ever end,
or if the dogs will ever be the same.

ABOUT ME

HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY BLOG
My Name is Aldyth Malan and I live  in Rustenburg, South Africa.  I have been a "Born Again" Christian since 1953.
During this time I am sad to say that I have failed God more times than I care to remember.  But  He, praise His Name has never once failed Me.                 Like the apostle Paul, I can say that he has brought me through times of plenty and also very lean times.  When my husband deserted me  in 1964, two months before the birth of our last child, and then committed suicide eight months later, I was left pennyless with  four children to raise on my own.  In 1964, women's salaries were a pittance and although we had to live frugally none of us ever went to bed hungry, and we stayed together as a family.

God's Word says "and lo, I am with you always even to the end of the world'"  Matt:28:20

My aim with this blog is to  create an oasis of comfort and inspiration, drawn from the Bible, with the help of Almighty God, to  the many people out there who are hurting and do not know which way to turn. If I only help one person that will be reward enough.

PRAISING GOD CHANGES THINGS

Many years ago when I arrived
home from church one Sunday
morning, I was tired, hot, hungry and thirsty. To add to my discomfort, when I walked into the kitchen, my heart dropped all the way down to my knees, when I saw the mountain of dirty dishes stacked up in the sink, just sitting there waiting for me.

My first  thoughts were "Oh No! How can I cope with this right now?"   I was alone and the chore had to be done. My children had all gone off with their friends for the afternoon. So I looked up to, heaven and began to praise God.  Then I poured dishwasher into the sink and while I washed I sang praises to my Lord.  And do you know what happened? In no time at all of those dishes were washed, dried and packed away.

Moral of the story - do everything with a joyful and thankful heart.
Don't look at the circumstances - look to God - He is Much bigger than your circumstances -

"Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you."
1st Peter 5:7

VICTIM OR VICTOR

Victim or Victor   both spelt with six letters Which one are you?

In Genesis chapter 3 God shows us how first Eve and then Adam became Satan's victims. Because of their disobedience (sin) all of their descendants were and will still be born sinners, because we all have their sinful blood running
through our veins. This makes us all victims.
No one can escape from this fact.

1st John 1:8   Tells us that if we say we have not sinned, the truth
is  not in us.  It is politely telling us that we are liars.

There is only One remedy for sin. Jesus Christ, God's Son died a very cruel death on the cross at Calvary to set us free - He did not only suffer physically, which in itself is a most cruel way to die, but He had all the filthy, ugly, disgusting, shameful sins of this world, (everyone's) past, present and future, poured out upon His Pure Sinless Soul.

Had He just died for my sins that would have been horrific and I can't even remember them all.

1st John:1:29 - John the Baptist says these words, when he saw Jesus coming toward him, "Behold the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of this world."
