First let us look at the meaning of the word Shield.
What is a shield?
A shield is a broad piece of defensive armor carried on the arm, formerly in general use in war, for the protection of the body.
Anything which protects, or defends, defense, shelter, protection .
Figuratively; One who protects and defends; who can do this better than our God? No one!
"Jehovah is my fortress, and my deliverer, my strong rock, my God, in Whom I trust, my shield and the horn of my salvation, Jehovah is
a shield to all that trust in Him."
Psalm 18: 2, 30
"He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust; His truth shall be thy shield and buckler."
Psalm 91:4
"The Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart trusts in Him and I am helped. Therefore my heart exults, and with my song I shall thank Him."
Psalm 28:7
After these things, the Word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision and said , ' Do not fear Abram, I am a shield to you, your reward shall be very great."Genesis 15:1

When God's shield is around you nothing can harm you.
