RECIPE TIME - BASIC MICROWAVE JAM

                                         
   BASIC MICROWAVE  JAM




  1 lemon
  500 gr fruit with
  stones or pips 
  removed
  1.5  cups white  sugar

                                       


Wash and cut lemon in  half and squeeze out            the juice. Place lemon juice, rind and fruit in a large microwave safe bowl and cook on high for 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes. (Do not use a plastic type bowl).

Add sugar and cook on high for a further twenty minutes, stirring and letting rest every five minutes, or until jam reaches setting point. To check for this place some jam on a chilled plate rub your finger  through the jam and if it separates it is ready to bottle.

Discard the lemon rind and spoon  hot jam into a clean  hot jar.  Invert for 2 minutes then turn upright.
