A couple in America have a very happy large family of six siblings, but only one of the six has red hair.
As there have never been any redheads on either side of the family the father needs constant reassurance that this particular child is really his.
Eventually, as he lies on his death bed he pleads with his wife once again to reassure him that the child is indeed his.
His wife decides that it is time now to tell him the truth, so she says:
"The redhead really is your child - but the other five are not."
