TWENTY SIXTEEN - PART THIRTY ONE

TWENTY SIXTEEN                                                - PART THIRTY ONE

                                                         Hello folks,

Sunday 7th August,                  Steve, Sue and Andy                arrive for arranged visit.         We explain that we have            no idea what is going to           happen.  We have now  tried every avenue and nothing has worked, so we are now waiting on the Lord for a miracle.  Which we have been doing  all along but we had to try everything from our side, to keep doors open.

Everything went smoothly . Very pleasant visit.

16th August   - Marieta's and Thea's birthdays today.

My eyes are now so bad, I have an appointment with the eye specialist today.  Steve had to pay R850 for visit in advance as Medical Aid is depleted. Also R355 for medication after I had seen the specialist.

Doctor did tests etc, and it was found that my "cataract lenses" which were done in 1995 and 1997 needed "polishing" by lazer as they had become dull over the years. Apparently it should be done every second year.

When doctor heard that medical aid funds were depleted he said that the medical aid usually paid for this treatment  which cost R2,200, regardless.
However, as it was already late afternoon we were unable to get authorization.

It was arranged that I could come back at 1.30pm the next day, for the treatment because by then they would have had authorization.

When I told the doctor             that I usually had a lot             of pus in my eyes he                 said there was no sign             of it now., but as the                 lenses were so bad he               could not see beyond               them.

When I got home, an hour and a half later, there was a big blog of pus sitting on the corner of my left eye.  Also while tests were being done the nurse, because I am hard of hearing, asked Ruth whether I wore glasses and when Ruth nodded she asked Ruth for them and then instructed me to put them on before she did a  test where I had to read a chart at a distance.

This seemed wrong to me as they are merely reading glasses and not meant for long distance. I could see the chart better without the glasses on. When I queried this with the doctor later, he agreed and redid the test without the glasses.

Tonight before going to sleep, I research the Lazer method on "google"  and find that one of the side effects can be inflammation of te eyes.  So I decided that as I already have enough inflammation, before doing the lazer treatment I will give my eyes a few days of the doctor's treatment to get them into a better state.
